OMICRON & THE IRONY

The world is gearing up for another deadly Covid variant called Omicron, as said in 2020 the new normal days are filled with surprises. On November 24,2021 a new variant of SARS-COV-2,B.1.1.529 was reported to the World Health Organization. This new variant was first detected in specimens collected on november11,2021 in Bostwana and on november14,2021 in South Africa. New finding shows that Omicrant was spreading in Netherland before the first case was identified in South Africa. The first confirmed cases reportedly came from foreign visitors to Botswana due to amid robust in testing and sequencing system south African scientist flagged it to the Global Health Community. In some country the media reported as south African variant, indicating that the variant originated there. This clearly shows the knowledge gap that currently exists between countries. Common PCR test can detect this variant easily and it can also distinguish from other types, due to its mutation in one of the three Genes the test targets. According to WHO this variant detected at faster rates than previous surges in infection. Omicron has more than 30 mutations in the Genes that code for the spike in protein according to nature. So far about the Transmissibility and Severity of disease is not known, According to WHO the number of people testing positive has risen in areas of South Africa affected by this variant but the epidemiologic studies are underway to understand if it is because of omicron or other factors. Currently there is no information to suggest that symptoms associated with Omicron are different from those other variants. Initial reported infections were among university students, younger individuals who tend to have more mild disease. The new variant has been detected in 38 countries and so far there is no reported death due to new variant.

Apart from these updates there is an interesting or mythological speculations are spreading very faster than the new variant which is nothing but the Italian science fiction comedy Omicron movie. On the 3rd day when the new variant has been discussed globally the social media is filled with the discussion of omicron movie. What is this movie? This movie is about an alien that takes over the body of an Earthman in order to learn about the planet so his race can take it over. Many conspiracy theorists have drawn together a loose patchwork of theories that they take as proof and spread in social media that the end days are nearing, The forth horse is riding, Savior is on board and many other news are revolving around globally. When Countries and Government Agencies and Health Care System impose a stricter sanctions globally to prevent the spread of infections the other side mythological news are gearing up, So what makes sense is half a population believes that mankind need to suffer certain disastrous things, diseases, uncertain situations are very common but they failed to understand when deadly disease is approaching it is the duty of every single person to be precautious so that he or she may not affect a person directly or indirectly but these are necessary things the mankind is failed to accept rather their beliefs and predictions affect the innocent one. Let us look back the stories of mankind who suffered a lot during the first and second wave of Covid. During the second phase of covid in India there was lack of oxygen shortage, lack of bed and it was a completely messed up state through out India and one among the story of frontliner worker is doctor Dimple Arora fondly known as Dipika, dimple was tested positive to covid by that time she carried her second child on 17th April since her body started to give up she recorded a video stating that people must not take covid lightly and she gave some precautionary measures to follow it up just not to save you but to save the neighbours too. India reported more than one lakh death during the second wave of covid, irrespective of its proper vaccination schedule the upsurge in infection got intense. where the government, people, everyone are failed to protect our beloved brothers and sisters. It is not particular about India many countries lost their beloved souls in the covid 19 pandemic. Its high time not to blame the government, front line workers, each number has a life, a person, a family and devastations with it. The turmoil’s and scars of covid 19 still not vanished especially in a family were a member is lost but still life has to move on. We are still in 2021 the year wasn’t closed but we are moving forward for embracing another deadly variant of covid even now many are speaking about the stories of mythology, some conspiracy theorist quote it as an underworld projects and some go with political reasons. It is not time of discussions, story telling’s its time to act according to the situation. Since a new variant is found and it is spreading faster than the average rate it is high time to be cautious following the necessary steps to prevent the spread. You never make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it is no longer a mistake it is a choice but we don’t have any right to kill an other person due to our ignorance
